Documenting a group of friends documenting a roadtrip called for … well, a roadtrip. Cast, agency and crew embarked on a journey beginning in jozi, stopping over in Villiers and ending on the golden beaches of Durban. Along the way AK captured all the bright, bold colours of summer and combined them with performances as fresh as an ice-cold Liqui-Fruit after a long, hot shoot.

DIRECTOR/FOUNDER
Growing up immersed in the visual arts from the age of 2, AK’s passion for storytelling led him to study Stills Photography and Film. He began his career as a Film Editor, honing his skills for four years before transitioning to directing TV commercials and short films. His creative journey includes writing and directing three feature film screenplays, as well as several short films, including the ambitious 8-hour live film, Halloween Sleepover.
AK has also delved into documentary filmmaking, exploring critical topics such as Gas Mining in the Karoo, Rhino Poaching, and Abuse in Sport. With over 24 years of experience, he has directed more than 350 commercials across 32 countries. His work has been recognised at prestigious events such as D&AD in New York, One Show, Promax in London, Los Angeles, and Africa, as well as the Cannes Advertising Awards. He has earned multiple Gold Media Awards, Promax awards, a D&AD Pencil, and several Gold Loeries.
In addition to his directing work, AK also serves as Director of Photography (DP) on select projects.
