"The lock down has really brought out many mixed emotions.
The one that I can say for sure regarding our president is pride.
This may seem crazy but the reason I am posting this video today is because I feel that Covid and Cyril might be a bit like The Rugby World Cup.
It’s is a great unifier and shows the empathy that we have for each other as a country. And that makes me feel proud, the same way we all felt proud and celebrated in the streets together when we, against all odds. Won the RWC in 95, 2007 and 2019!
Thank you to Grid and FNB for entrusting us with this project that superseded all our expectations.
May we all be together celebrating in the streets again in the near future"

Bright ideas, bright performances, bright style – it’s gotta be Katlego and Sol.
Over the years Sol Beer has built its brand on being light, bright and refreshingly fun. So when Rapt Creative created a new series of ads for their client, they needed someone with the same sense of irreverence with a distinctive style.
Enter Katlego Baaitse. With his agency background Katlego is super skilled in crystal clear communication, along with an amazing ability to get outstanding performances from his cast. And what a cast! You want bright? You want fun? You want to taste the sun? Then you want Mandisa “MandzNotHot” Jakavula, Farieda 'Pharoahfi' Metsileng and Lindah Majola. What followed was a crazy two-day shoot where everyone and everything just popped – and came together in eight quirky, totally out-there ads that did too.
Check out the end result yourself for a taste of just what Katlego can bring to the table. Then contact us about your bright ideas. Because we’d love a taste of them too.

We all have those cherished old gadgets lying around the house. Now Samsung has a use for them. In their new Trade-In campaign, Samsung invites you to search out your old devices and trade them in for credit when you buy the new Galaxy S22. But letting go isn’t always easy …
AK gives the process of discarding old possessions a wonderfully fresh comedic twist by exaggerating those emotions in a way guaranteed to strike a chord with any sentimental soul. Impeccable casting married to superb performances – along with great images and editing – turn the trauma of letting go into a memorably entertaining experience.
But you don’t have to let go. Contact Spitfire anytime to find out for yourself how AK can help turn your idea into a hugely entertaining one. With a happy ending every time.

Women changing the world team up to create greatness. Don’t change who you are. Change the world. It’s this powerful message that FNB’s latest commercial in their new “Bank of #TheChangeables” campaign needed to communicate. And one that all of us at Spitfire identified with immediately due to our longstanding commitment to growing new talent in the industry. The fact that the ad was to feature the Springbok Women’s team made it all the more enticing for Spitfire’s newest Director, Hloni Ntsooa

The freshest young talent directed by the freshest young talent? Granted!
The Brave Group is renowned for their brave work. And in creating the Grant’s Crew Battle campaign for their client Grant’s Whisky, they wanted a director equally brave. Spitfire’s youngest Black director, JT, was their man.Supported by a strong all-female production team (producer Baleseng, production manager Relebohile and director-in-training Hloni), JT was up for the challenge and then some. Three crews, four challenges and a 12-hour shoot day later, Brave and Grant’s got themselves a winner. As the original content creators, we do all things content. And we’d like to make yours a winner too. Contact Spitfire today.

Converse Roots: We are All Stars
Converse gets the All-Star treatment from Spitfire’s rising star- Katlego Baaitse.
Katlego combines a generous helping of street, super keen vision and heaps of advertising experience to create a piece of communication that leaps out the screen and grabs you by the soul. Having an agency as visionary as Joe Public helps a great deal too. This picture acknowledges the visionaries of the past, celebrates this who walk in their shoes today and salute the All Stars of our time.

iKhokha and Spitfire’s Katlego – Together We Rise. iKhokha is a South African fintech company redefining the way SMEs do business through mobile innovation. Katlego Baaitse is a director redefining the way commercials entertain and engage their target markets. With the eye of an artist, the mind of a marketer and the soul of a storyteller, Katlego’s newest work for iKhokha is an experiential delight for everyone, SME owner or not. Katlego created a stunningly styled and heart-warmingly humorous campaign of work that sees Senzo & Siyanda, a daddy and daughter bakery team, passionately motivate small business owners to “rise” together and grow their businesses with the help of iKhokha. A series of short teaser films, supported by product-led posters, led up to short standalone product and brand spots before breaking the main brand commercial, again supported by print executions showcasing Senzo & Siyanda as iKhokha’s “brand ambassadors”. Katlego’s talent for outstanding performance, comedic timing and gorgeous cinematography shines through brighter – literally and figuratively! – than ever before. Take a look for yourself. And again, just for fun. Then contact Spitfire to find out how Katlego can make your idea shine as well.

Nothing but real passion from AK and Spitfire for Liqui Fruit.
“Real” has been a hallmark of Spitfire co-founder and Director AK’s work for years. (Check out his other reel at spitfire.tv ) Real passion, real talent, and a real commitment to creating outstanding commercials that inform and engage. Wunderman Thompson and their client Liqui-Fruit thought so too.
Documenting a group of friends documenting a roadtrip called for … well, a roadtrip. Cast, agency and crew embarked on a journey beginning in jozi, stopping over in Villiers and ending on the golden beaches of Durban. Along the way AK captured all the bright, bold colours of summer and combined them with performances as fresh as an ice-cold Liqui-Fruit after a long, hot shoot.
And the berry on top? Marrying that beautiful footage with an amapiano remix of Miss Lira’s Feel Good by Prince Kaybee. Now that’s real awesome. Contact Spitfire now to find out how we can make a real difference to your work too.
